Why should you work on-campus?
Did you know working on-campus can help you gain experience and life skills that can be applied to your post-graduation employment, such as leadership and work-life balance? That's only one benefit of student employment. Working 8-12 hours per week while in school actually has been shown to help academic achievement. The workplace is also a great way to meet people. In addition, while on the job you'll be able to take on new responsibilities and develop practical skills like time management, problem solving and organization while earning a steady pay with flexible hours. You might even make professional contacts for after graduation. Student employment is experience that pays!
Hiring Process

Job Search and Application
Candidates can search for current openings through the job posting list. The job posting will provide details on the position duties, qualifications, and other details about the job. Candidates interested in a certain position and who meet the qualifications should apply to that position.
Applicant Screening
Hiring managers may establish a screening process that best meets their needs. The screening timeline and process can vary for each position and may include a series of interviews or job simulations on top of an overall assessment of skills and competencies needed for the job.
Applicants may consider submitting a resume or other supporting material to highlight their interest and qualifications for the position.
Job Offer
Once a successful candidate is identified, the hiring manager will extend a job offer. The successful candidate must accept the job offer to initiate onboarding and the new hire verification process.
Onboarding
Before a new hire can begin work, they must complete new hire verification. Students should be prepared to show original versions of employment eligibility documents.
How to Apply
Hiring at Purdue is done though the SuccessFactors platform. Internal applicants, those already employed at Purdue, can search for job postings through the internal job site by logging into the SuccessFactors Employee Launchpad found on the OneCampus dashboard. External applicants, those not employed at Purdue, can search for job postings through the external job seeker tab found at the Purdue Careers website.
Accepting a Job Offer
Job offers are accepted electronically. When you are offered a job, you'll receive an email stating you have an offer letter to review and instructions on how to do so. Once the offer letter is accepted, that'll initiate the onboarding and the new hire verification process.
