With over 50 classes a week, GroupX has something for everyone. You can learn the latest dance moves, fuel your cardio fitness, increase your strength and power or improve your mindfulness and flexibility. With cutting-edge exercise science, the hottest music, and your very own Boilermaker instructors, Group X will help you fall in love with fitness.

Make Your Reservation

Pre-registration is required for all classes.

Class spots may be reserved up to 72 hours in advance. 

Follow these steps to make a reservation:

  • Step 1: Download the RecWell App: iphone or android.
  • Step 2: Click the GroupX icon. Select the class you want to attend. 
  • Step 3: In the description, click "register", then scroll down to your class date and time, then hit "register" again.
  • Step 4: Select "checkout", then hit "checkout" again.

Cancel Your Reservation

No-Show Policy

An empty space in class means that another participant is being kept from joining the class. Participants will be charged for any pre-booked sessions that are "late cancelled" or are "no show". Participants who fail to cancel their registration at least 15 minutes before the start of class or do not show up, will have their account and access to the CoRec suspended until they pay the $5 no-show fee at the Member Services desk at the CoRec.

Follow these steps to cancel a reservation:

  • Step 1: Login to the RecWell Member Portal.
  • Step 2: Click "Log In" in the top right hand corner, then BoilerKey in.
  • Step 3: Click your picture in the top right hand corner, then select "Profile".
  • Step 4: Under "View Account", click on "Programs".
  • Step 5: Find the class you want to cancel and select the three dots (right-hand side) and click "Cancel Registration".
  • Step 6: On the confirmation page, click "Yes, Cancel Registration".

Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to start of class to guarantee entry. At 2 minutes prior to the start of class, your spot may be given away to participants that are present. Entry will not be permitted after class has started. If you have questions or concerns, please email groupx@purdue.edu.

Strength

TOTAL BODY STRENGTH

Total Body Strength fuses cardiovascular, strength, and core training into one super-charged workout. Workouts will target major muscle groups utilizing various movements from week to week.

LES MILLS BODYPUMP™

BODYPUMP™ is the original barbell class that shapes, tones, and strengthens your entire body. The key to BODYPUMP™ is THE REP EFFECT™, a breakthrough in fitness training focusing on high repetition movements with low weight loads.  BODYPUMP™ will help you achieve strength and introduce muscle endurance conditioning.

STRONG

STRONG Nation is a revolutionary high-intensity, full body workout where every single cardio and muscle-conditioning move is perfectly synced to original music.  Instead of counting reps, you train to the beat, pushing past your limits and torching more calories so you reach total body transformation faster!  This class format was formulated by the people who brought you Zumba, so you'll see similarities, but instead of dancing, you're doing kick-boxing and calisthenics. 

EXPRESS CORE

This 30-minute core-training workout uses your body weight, resistance bands, and weights to strengthen and tone your midsection.  Exercises are designed to improve your core strength and endurance!

Mind/Body

MEDITATION

Fall into a deep state of relaxation and tranquility with this 30-minute meditation class.  You will learn to focus on the present and eliminate the stream of jumbled thoughts that may be crowding your mind and causing stress.

MINDFUL YOGA

Mindful Yoga is a 30-minute yoga and meditation experience intended to restore your mind and body.  Each movement and pose is carefully selected to help release stress and tension from the body.

RESTORATIVE YOGA

In Restorative Yoga, each pose is a unique experience linked with breathing, stretching, and letting go of tension and stress.  This slower-paced, Hatha style class will help relax and restore your mind and body.

YOGA FLOW

Yoga flow is a mind and body practice that offers continuous movement in and out of postures linked with your breath.  The goal of this class is to progressively build intensity into deeper postures before unwinding into savasana.  Come flow with us!

SUNRISE YOGA

This Vinyasa-style yoga class uses a flowing sequence of poses that change with every breath to increase strength, flexibility, endurance, and balance.  Sunrise Yoga starts with breathing exercises followed by a unique flow and ending with deep relaxation to start your day.

POWER YOGA 

In Power Yoga, you will move through energetic and quick-flowing sequences aimed at building strength and endurance.  This faster-paced, Vinyasa based flow will increase your heart rate while challenging your mind and body.

YOGA SCULPT

Yoga Sculpt is an upbeat and unique combination of power yoga and strength training designed to create a full-body workout.  This fast-paced class incorporates strength and cardiovascular training within traditional yoga sequences.  Weights are optional!

BARRE

Barre is a muscle-endurance class that utilizes a ballet barre for many of the exercises.  This class is designed to balance, strengthen, and tone the entire body.  Each class will include several highly effective sequences of high repetition, low resistance exercises with an emphasis on the core, arms, hips, and thighs.

PILATES

Pilates is a method of exercise consisting of low-impact, flexibility, and muscular endurance movements.  The class will focus on stability, posture, and breath control while challenging and balancing the muscles of the body.

Cardio

CYCLE

Take a ride over hills and across flat roads with a variety of sprints, intervals, and choreography!  Cycle is a highly effective way to build cardiovascular endurance.  Cycle offers both 45-minute and 30-minute express rides with fun energizing music.  Come ride with us!

POUND®

Pound fuses easy-to-follow cardio moves with Pilates, isometric movements, & and yoga-based poses into a cardio-strength workout, all while drumming with RIPStix. This combo works the entire body, raises the heart rate, and forces each move to be as precise as a basic beat.

EXPRESS HIIT 

HIIT=High Intensity Interval Training. In this 30-minute class, both weighted and bodyweight exercises will be used to perform short bursts of movements followed by quick recoveries to improve cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance, and overall fitness!

Dance

ZUMBA®

This Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class incorporates Latin and international music and dance moves, creating a dynamic, exciting, exhilarating and effective workout. ZUMBA® class combines fast and slow rhythms of cumbia, merengue, salsa, reggaeton, hip-hop, pop, mambo, rumba, flamenco, calypso, and salsaton. No dance experience is required. 

DANCE FITNESS

Ditch the workout and join the party!  This class provides continuous cardio using a combination of current music and high-energy dance moves.

SWERK

Sweat and Work!  The world's best hip-hop cardio fitness workout!  Our booty poppin', glute focused dance moves will change your routine for fitness.  It is a confidence class about yourself.

Aqua

AQUA DEEP

Grab your swimsuit and head to the Boilermaker Aquatic Center for Aqua Deep!  This warm water exercise program takes place in our 86-degree diving well and incorporates cardio, strength, and core training movements using flotation belts, water dumbbells, fins, noodles, and the resistance of the water.  Every muscle will be worked!
