Course Requirements
Learn the five course requirements needed to complete the certificate.
OPEN TO ALL UNDERGRADUATE MAJORS
The Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation is similar to a minor. To complete requirements, you take two introductory entrepreneurship courses, as well as three option and capstone courses, many of which may overlap with courses in your major.
Review the Approved Course List to identify the fastest and most efficient path to completion.
2 Intro Core Courses
ENTR 20000+(ENTR 31000 or ENTR 31500)
Core courses provide you with the fundamental language, knowledge, leadership, and communication skills related to entrepreneurship and innovation. These required core courses are offered solely by the Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program.
ENTR 20000 Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Innovation
CHOOSE BETWEEN
ENTR 31000 Marketing and Management for New Ventures (Pre-req. ENTR 20000)
OR
ENTR 31500 Business Planning for Social Entrepreneurship (Pre-req. ENTR 20000)
+ 2 Option Courses
ENTR+departments across campus
Option courses provide you with discipline or industry specific depth in areas which are relevant to entrepreneurship and innovation. They are offered through the Certificate in Entrepreneurship an Innovation Program as well as departments across the university. These are detailed in the Approved Course List.
+ 1 Capstone Course
or Experience. ENTR+departments across campus
Capstone courses provide you with experiences which can include developing business plans for new ventures, consulting with small businesses, or involvement in product innovation.
They are offered through the Certificate in Entrepreneurship an Innovation Program, as well as departments across the university. There are details in the Approved Course List.
In some cases, you will be permitted to substitute an additional capstone for one of the required option courses.
