Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund

The Esperanza Education Fund
Amount: $5,000 – $20,000
Description: Scholarship recipients will be selected based on qualities traditionally valued and demonstrated by the immigrant community: hard work, resourcefulness, perseverance in the face of adversity, academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to one’s community. A committee drawn from the local community will review applications and select a group of finalists for interviews. The Esperanza Education fund will award scholarship for students to attend public colleges or universities or community colleges.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must be born outside the U.S. or have two parents born outside the U.S.
- Applicant must be planning to enroll full-time at an accredited public college or university in the academic year the award is offered.
- Applicant must be either a graduating senior at a high school in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia or a recent GED grad residing in DC, Maryland or Virginia.
- Applicant must have a family income of less than $100,000 in 2018.

La Unidad Latina/empowering Estudiantes Latinoamericanos (“LULMDS”) Scholarship
Due Date: April
Amount: One $3,000 scholarship and two $1,000 scholarship
Eligibility Requirements:
- The student must be 18 years or older
- Have completed at least two years of undergraduate study in any major
- Have a GPA of 2.8 or higher
- Be enrolled or accepted to study full-time at one of MPOWER’s partner universities in the United States for the remainder of the student’s undergraduate study and/or for a graduate degree program
- Be an international student on an F-1 visa or a Green Card holder (permanent resident)
- Be a citizen of any country in Latin America

Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholarship
Amount: Awards are based on merit; amounts range from $500 to $5,000, based on relative need, among the Scholars selected.
Description: The HSF Scholarship is designed to assist students of Hispanic heritage obtain a college degree. Scholarships are available, on a competitive basis, to: High school seniors, Undergraduate students (all years), Community college students transferring to four-year universities, and Graduate Students.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be of Hispanic Heritage
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for High School Students
- Minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for College and Graduate Students
- Plan to enroll Full-Time in an accredited, not-for-profit, 4-year university, or graduate school, during the FALL of a scholarship cycle (year)
- S. Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, DACA or Eligible Non-Citizen (as defined by FAFSA)
- Complete FAFSA or state-based financial aid application (if applicable)

Hispanic Scholarship Consortium
Description: The Hispanic Scholarship Consortium seeks highly motivated student leaders with a clear vision for their future to apply for the HSC Scholars Program. The program goes beyond traditional services and offers empowerment through scholarship, mentorship, and leadership and is open to graduating high school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be of Hispanic/Latino heritage
- Plan to enroll in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States on a full-time or part-time basis

- 800 word essay topic: Describe how your Latino heritage, family and the community in which you grew up have impacted your desire and motivation to obtain a college degree. Additionally, describe what you intend to accomplish with your degree and how you will give back to your community.

Indiana Latino Institute Scholarship
Description: The Indiana Latino Institute scholarship was created as a means to address the underrepresentation of Latinos in post-secondary education. The goal is to encourage Latino students in Indiana to pursue higher education and engage in community service.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Students applying to or currently enrolled at any college or university in the state of Indiana
- Student must be planning to enroll in a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester
- Student must be a high school senior, college freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior
- Student must be between the ages of 17 and 25
- Demonstrate academic achievement (minimum 2.5 GPA on 4.0 scale)
- Demonstrate financial need (complete financial need form)
- Document ongoing community service involvement
- Preference given to Latino students residing in Indiana who are first-generation college or nontraditional students
