Recap: 2023 Purdue Engagement & Service-Learning Student Showcase
Students from across Purdue’s campuses showcased community engagement projects as part of service-learning courses or engagement with organizations at the 2023 Purdue Engagement and Service-Learning Summit.
On Tuesday, March 2, 2023, the Purdue Office of Engagement hosted the annual Engagement & Service-Learning Summit, highlighting exceptional champions for community engagement. One hundred and fifteen participants from across Purdue’s campuses showcased community engagement projects during the summit’s 2023 Summit Student Showcase.
The print posters and digital stories presented the impactful work of Purdue students and their community partners in service-learning courses and engagement. The top three projects in each category – print and digital – were selected by a panel of judges and awarded cash prizes of $150, $100, and $50.

I have gained a lot of technical knowledge, but additionally, I have learned about the importance of partner-oriented design and the impact that our work as engineers can have on those around us. I want to be an engineer that not only designs cool things, but has an impact on my community outside of my own academic satisfaction. Thank you again EPICS and the Office of Engagement at Purdue for these opportunities and being awarded 1st Place in the poster presentations!
