Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the practice of kneading and manipulating muscles and other tissue to improve well-being and overall health. It includes moving and applying pressure to the muscles, tendons, and ligaments. A wide variety of techniques which vary in the manner in which touch, pressure, and intensity of the treatment is applied.

After struggling with hip and lower back pain and countless doctors visits, the certified and licensed massage therapists in the Wellness Suite have finally brought me relief. Working together towards a goal of being pain free, I have not felt this physically good in years. I would highly recommend this very qualified staff. ”

What to Expect from your Massage

Before the Massage
  • Your therapist will review and discuss the Medical History Form.
  • If you have areas that you do or do not want your therapist to work on, please share before the massage begins.
  • The therapist will discuss whether you want to start your massage face down or face up.
  • If you have allergies, please discuss this with your therapist, as oil and lotions are used.
Privacy
  • Before your massage, the therapist will discuss your level of clothing during the massage. It’s all about your level of comfort. This is different for every person.
  • The therapist will leave the room while you undress. Take off only as much as you are comfortable removing.
  • After you remove your clothing, you will lie on the table with the sheet and blanket covering your body. The therapist will knock before entering the room.
Draping
  • Before your massage, the therapist will explain draping, which is using the sheet to cover yourself.
  • The massage therapist will NEVER expose your genitals or breasts, or any other areas you identify.
  • During the massage, the therapist will only uncover only the part of your body that they are massaging.
  • You will probably turn over once during your massage. While this happens, the therapist will maintain your draping privacy and ensure that your body is not exposed.
  • If you and your massage therapist discussed working on your gluteus maximus, it will remain covered and the therapist will massage OVER the sheet or towel.
During the massage, please let your therapist know...
  • Client will remain covered throughout the massage except for the area uncovered by the Massage Therapist that is being massaged with the client’s permission.

  • If for any reason at any point, you wish to stop the massage session.
After the Massage

  • You may receive an email with a short survey for you to answer questions about your experience. We appreciate your feedback.
