PASSPORT is the Purdue Association of Student Study Abroad Participants and Other Recent Travelers. Less formally, it is a group of students who have either returned from studying abroad, who are thinking of going, or who are currently studying overseas at Purdue.
PASSPORT is a social network, and as such, organizes activities which help students connect and get to know others who share similar interests.
For more information, please contact Michael Bittinger (mbittinger@purdue.edu), PASSPORT Advisor.
The Ambassadors were formed in the Fall of 2002 to help promote Study Abroad throughout the University. Ambassadors take part in Admissions functions for incoming and prospective students, give presentations for classes and other groups, and conduct general outreach efforts. Ambassadors are chosen from academically talented returned study abroad participants who apply for the position. If you are interested in becoming an Ambassador, please email studyabroad@purdue.edu.
Getting involved in international student organizations is a great opportunity to introduce yourself to the ideas, attitudes, and cultural nuances of people from around the world. It can allow you to gain experience in intercultural relations before even leaving on a study abroad experience. Once you have returned, it is also a good way to keep yourself connected with all of the exciting times that you had while aboard. After living abroad you may find that you want to give something back and contribute to Purdue's international community. Get connected with one of the over 35 international student organizations on campus. Don't forget you can also start your own club as well.
