Tribal Immersion Program

PI: Felica Ahasteen-Bryant

The Tribal Immersion program provides a cross cultural experience for Purdue students to increase awareness of historical and contemporary issues affecting tribal communities. The program allows students to travel to the Eastern Band Cherokee of North Carolina homeland for an informative cultural experience. Cultural topics that will be addressed during this trip will include tribal sovereignty, language revitalization, tribal governmental structure, sustainability and natural resource management, and social services issues.
