Role Model

Role Model

In the BoilerMentor program first-year students are connected with a peer mentor in their specific academic college. The peer mentoring relationship includes a series of support initiatives to assist students in completing their academic goals, from the identification of institutional support resources, joining a study group or attending a campus activity.

Who are the BoilerMENTORs?

The students selected as BoilerMENTORs are leaders on campus and have demonstrated the ability to adjust to the collegiate environment and perform well academically. Their strong commitment to academics and to the University community serves as the platform for where we desire our incoming students to reach. These students have been recommended by their respective multicultural program director to serve in this role. The BoilerMENTORs will schedule frequent meetings with mentees to discuss transitional issues, provide information on academic resources, and serve as a bridge between the incoming students and faculty and staff.

We believe that this peer mentoring program will develop more strong leaders who excel academically and contribute to the entire University community. We are excited about this new initiative as well as the positive and rewarding interactions and dialogue that it will create between the BoilerMENTORs, mentees, faculty and staff.
